  • King of Juda King Jehoshaphat. Similar circumstance, regarding "what in tarnation", "jumping Jehoshaphat" was popularized by the Looney Tunes character Yosemite Sam in the 20 Century. In this context Yosemite Sam used to communicate surprise, disbelieve, or like others a replacement swearword. And you're welcome. I actually couldn't believe you guys didn't have this one.
